TEPA’s investigation of child slave labour on Indonesian jermals (fishing platforms), ‘HELL ON WATER’, was completed in cooperation with the Indonesian child welfare charity KKSP (Kolompok Kerja Social Perkotan) and Anti-Slavery International.

The resulting investigative footage was broadcast on BBC One in a special feature on child slave labour.

TEPA’s ‘HELL ON WATER’ worldwide fund raising and awareness campaign was recognised by Amnesty International with the prestigious Human Rights Press Award.

Child labour on Indonesian jermals ceased soon after the conclusion of this campaign.
